About our MSc in Electrical Engineering
People’s well-being, industrial competitiveness and the overall functioning of society are dependent on safe, secure, sustainable and affordable energy. The energy infrastructure which will power citizens’ homes, industry and services in 2050, as well as the buildings which people will use, are being designed and built now. The pattern of energy production and use in 2050 is already being set. (Extract from Energy Roadmap 2050 by the European Commission)
The Master of Science in Electrical Engineering has been successfully offered by the Faculty of Engineering for the last 50 years. Later the globalized context, in which most companies in the technology field have strong international interactions, has been the needed input to change the main language of teaching of this course from Italian to English.
This update will build the foundation for a global context, both in terms of language skills and in terms of technical terminology, and simply ensuring a more intercultural study environment.
What Do our Electrical Engineers graduates Do?
Our MSc allows the student to gain personal experience in the use of experimental investigation tools, professional computing environments for the numerical simulation of the phenomena studied, techniques for designing electrical systems and industrial automation.
The Power of Electricity
Electrical Engineering has as its main areas of interest the generation, transport and use of electricity, to meet the energy needs of the industrial, residential, and tertiary sectors. The growing interest in the rational management of energy resources makes it essential to acquire skills regarding the exploitation of alternative energy sources, such as renewables and energy storage. All the programs offered by our faculty include extended laboratory activities, seminars and tutorials taught by industry leaders and visiting professors from all over the world.
